Google Shopping will not be available as an application on mobile devices. However, its web version is still available. Microsoft recently confirmed that it will stop supporting the Shopping app on Android and iOS. The app will run for a few months and then it will shut down completely.
Google Shopping was launched to compete with competitors like Amazon, where shoppers are shown links to websites from which they can purchase the products they need. This closure was first discovered by XDA Developers. Gadget 360 also cannot download the Google Shopping app from the Google Play store on any of our Android smartphones.
Google confirmed to 9to5Google: “In the next few weeks, we will stop supporting the shopping application. All the functions that the application provides to users can be found in the” Purchases “tab. We will continue with the tags” Purchases “and other interfaces. from Google (including Google apps) are built-in features that make it easy for people to find and buy the products they like.
” The mobile app and the web version of Google Shopping have similar interfaces and experiences, so it’s understandable why Google might want to cancel the app. This is what Google intends to conserve with its engineering resources. The Google Shopping “Home” feed offers users recommended products that may interest them. The “Saved” tab shows the products that the user has added to their wish list, and the “Notifications” tab shows the user’s orders and promotions updates.
The “Shopping Cart” tab guides users through the purchase process. In July 2019, Google Shopping was launched for US users and Google Shopping was launched for Indian users in December, aiming to compete with Amazon.
However, Google doesn’t want to build its own warehouse to stock products, instead directing shoppers to select retailers like Costco and Target. Later that year, Google added new features such as customer service support, price tracking, local store inventory lists, options that can be purchased directly from Google, etc.
