New Features in iOS 14.5:

One of the most anticipated features of iOS 14.5 is the ability to unlock the iPhone with the Apple Watch while wearing a skin. It’s been almost a year since Apple introduced faster password requests to make it easier to unlock Face ID-equipped iPhones with skins.

The user only needs to look at the iPhone, then the Apple Watch can be worn on the wrist, in an unlocked state and close to the iPhone. Tactile feedback will make its way to the Apple Watch, indicating that your iPhone is unlocked.

Now you can use your Apple Watch to unlock iPhone X and higher models while wearing a skin.

When the user detects that they are wearing a mask and have a compatible Apple Watch on their wrist, the new feature will essentially disable Face ID on iPhone X and higher models.

Apple has made certain requirements to get a new experience that is essential. You need Apple Watch Series 3 or higher with watchOS 7.4. The Apple Watch must also be paired with the iPhone, and both the Apple Watch and the iPhone must enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

You must also enter the password on the Apple Watch and the wrist detection feature must be turned on. Last but not least, wearing a mask is also important to protect yourself from the spread of the coronavirus.

Once all the requirements are met, you can configure the use of the Apple Watch unlock feature by the following method: Go to “ Settings ”> “ Face ID and Password ”, and then turn on the option “ Unlock with Apple Watch ” on your iPhone.

What you will find interesting is that iOS 14.5 brings Siri enhancements, including the option to select the voice that speaks to you when you first set up your device. You can choose if you want to talk about a woman or a man. Siri also has the ability to support Group FaceTime.

This means that you can now ask Siri to make a FaceTime call to any group in “Messages”. The voice assistant has also been updated. Calls can be announced through compatible AirPods or Beats headphones. If iPhone users need help but cannot make a real call, they can call emergency contacts.

The iOS 14.5 update also brings the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) that Apple announced last year, and faces some hurdles ahead of its launch. When an app needs to track your data to place ads on an app or website owned by another company, this feature prompts the user for permission via a pop-up message.

It also tells the application when to share data with the data broker. You can prohibit application companies from tracking your activities on other companies’ applications and websites by tapping “Do not track applications” in the pop-up message. Install most applications after iOS 14.5.

You can also apply the new privacy settings to all applications by going to “Settings”> “Privacy tracking” and unchecking “Allow applications to request tracking”.
