Digital NFC car key

  • Apple and BMW can be working for new technology in the Automobile industry. The new feature in iOS 14 is called the CarKey system which uses the near-field communication (NFC) technology that has been available on Android for a while. For, Apple iPhone and Apple Watch users will soon be able to securely unlock their cars with digital keys and BMW will support this feature first.
  • Digital car keys users are a secure way to use iPhone or Apple Watch to unlock to start their car. The next generation digital car keys based on Ultra-Wideband technology for spatial awareness delivered used U1 chip. This feature will become available next year. The first vehicle to support these features will be the 2021 BMW 5 series.
  • BMW Digital Key for the iPhone will enable customers to just tap to unlock and easily get the iPhone in the smartphone tray and pushing the start button.
  • Management of access from inside the car as well as through Apple Wallet.
  • The 2021 BMW 5 Series will be the first car of digital car key features.
  • Apple and BMW have to work closely with the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC) to press ahead with the established for global standards.
  • BMW announced that the Digital Key for iPhone will be available in 45 countries and on a range of models like that 1 Series,  2 Series, 3 Series, 4 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series, 8 Series, X5, X6, X7, X5M, X6M, and Z4 if manufactured after July 1, 2020.
